We have re opened our showrooms for physical sales including test drives and viewings from Monday 12th April. We look forward to welcoming customers back to experience our new Volkswagen and Skoda range plus our large selection of used cars.

Latest Update National Lockdown January 2021.....

After the government announcment on the 4th January regarding the new national lockdown in England, we wanted to update our customers on what will be happening at our Volkswagen and Skoda showrooms.

From Tuesday 5th January all sales showrooms and used car displays will close to the public. We will not be able to carry out any of the usual onsite sales activities including test drives etc until further notice. Our online activities can still continue and we remain digitally open, so you are able to purchase a car and reserve it via our website deswinks.com or by telephone on the usual number. You will then be able to collect it via a safe click and collect system that we have in place.

Our digital resources are extensive and we can accommodate all of your sales requirments via telephone, email, live chat or even personalised videos and video calling.

Our service department will remain open for servicing, MOT and repairs, still working to the same covid safe practices we’ve been maintaining for the last few months.

Our colleagues remain on hand to assist with your sales and aftersales enquiries via telephone, email or live chat and video and our websites will still be updated on a daily basis. There may be times when our phone lines are busy so please feel free to engage with our live chat system or send us an online enquiry.

We would like to thank all customers for their patience and for helping us to ensure our dealerships are a safe place to work and visit. We’d also like to wish everyone the very best of health, please stay safe and we look forward to seeing everyone again soon.

Update Monday 26th May

The Prime Minister last night announced that from 1st June outdoor markets and car showrooms can officially reopen. Therefore we will be opening up both our Volkswagen and Skoda showrooms from Monday 1st June and are looking forward to welcoming back our customers old and new. We will be operating with reduced staff and with social distancing measures in place for the safety of both our staff and customers alike. We will be aiming to work on an appointment only basis where possible so please keep this in mind. We look forward to handling your enquiries while maintaining the high level of service we have always aimed to provide.

Update Monday 18th May 2020

Following new government guidance and while following social distancing we have reopened our aftersales department for booked appointments only. Please bear with us as we are working with a reduced staff level in order to comply with all safety guidance.

Our showroom remains closed as per government guidelines with a view to reopen as soon as the guidance changes. However all our stock and offers are listed on our website, every car is available for a click and collect purchase which we are able to complete at your convenience with the assurance that all recommended safety and hygiene processes have been completed.

We thank all our customers past, present and future for their continued business through these challenging times.

Monday 23rd March 2020

As the UK prepares for further measures to be taken to tackle COVID-19, at Des Winks we are taking our own steps to ensure the safety of our employees, customers and surrounding community.

We have taken the decision to close our business from Tuesday 24th March for an indefinite period. This includes the sales, service and parts departments of both Volkswagen and Skoda.

We will contact all our current sales and service customers in due course to discuss future workshop bookings and new/used car collections.

Our website will be kept fully up to date with all our current stock and we still welcome enquiries online for any vehicles that we have for sale including the option to purchase online for delivery when we reopen. We will also answer any new car enquires and arrange test drives as soon as it is possible.

We will always aim to answer any general enquiry via www.deswinks.com or our Facebook page.

Our staff will all be pulling together to assist customers over the next few days and in turn, as a family business, we are committed to supporting our employees through the next few weeks.

In addition to this we want to extend any assistance we can to local NHS & Emergency Services. If you are in need of any vehicle repair to keep you mobile, then please contact us online and we will aim to, where possible, assist with getting you back on the road.

We hope everyone stays safe during these unprecedented and difficult times.
