New Volkswagen Yellow

Driving down memory lane – via ITV Studio 1 and Coronation Street

Between them, Martin and Roman Kemp have experienced so much in the worlds of pop music, cinema, television and radio. Martin Kemp first came to prominence in the early 1980s as the bass player with Spandau Ballet, a band that was at the vanguard of the burgeoning New Romantic movement. With brother Gary providing the songs (and playing lead guitar), Spandau Ballet went on to score 17 UK Top 40 singles (including a number one, True) and eight UK Top 10 albums.

If this wasn’t enough, Martin subsequently began a second successful career as an in-demand actor. Among many other things, he starred with Gary in the 1990 hit Brit gangster flick, The Krays, and in more than 300 episodes of EastEnders.

Roman has followed in Martin’s footsteps, forging a career as a popular TV and radio presenter, often appearing with his father, which he does in this very video…

Watch as Martin and Roman take a trip down memory lane in a Volkswagen Golf 8, while relating family tales and highlighting some of this high-quality hatchback’s many qualities.

Keyless entry, a voice-activated infotainment system, ambient lighting and remote locking are just a few examples of the Golf 8’s features, which the father-and-son celebrities ably demonstrate. And while they do, they travel the English countryside, taking in the hallowed cobbles of Coronation Street and the UK entertainment hub that is ITV studio 1.
