The ŠKODA KODIAQ vRS is the Czech brand’s new, sporty, top-of-the-range model. In a week’s time, the high-performance SUV celebrated its world premiere at the 2018 Paris Motor Show. The latest addition to the Czech brand’s vRS family combines a generous and flexible space as well as ŠKODA-typical practicality with a sporty interior.

The sports seats with integrated headrests, which come as standard in the ŠKODA KODIAQ vRS, feature seat cushions and backrests wrapped in Alcantara – a material frequently used in motorsport. The contrasting stitching and red detailing with perforated Alcantara create visual highlights. The seats’ side bolsters are covered in carbon leather and, just like the central armrest and the armrests in the doors, bear red stitching.

The multifunction sports steering wheel features the vRS logo and the contrasting red stitching. The door trims use black Alcantara; but in this case, the distinctive diamond cross pattern is rendered in black stitching. A carbon-look instrument panel, black roof liner and stainless steel pedal covers round off the sporting appearance of the ŠKODA KODIAQ vRS. Of course, this high-performance SUV retains all the familiar qualities of the KODIAQ model series: plenty of space for five or seven people, a large luggage compartment and many of the brand’s typical Simply Clever ideas.

The heart of the KODIAQ vRS is the new four-cylinder bi-turbo diesel 2.0 BiTDI, delivering power of 239 PS and torque of 500 Nm thanks to the twin sequential turbocharging. Power of this engine transforms large SUV KODIAQ into a real performance vehicle – it accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 7.0 seconds and allows it to drive at speeds of up to 220 km/h. The engine sound is amplified by Dynamic Sound Boost, adding extra spice to this speed thrill. The 2.0 BiTDI engine is paired with a lightning-fast shifting DSG seven-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission, delivering power to all four wheels courtesy of the intelligent 4×4 drive, which works automatically and – drawing on driving data – continually adjusts the torque distribution between the axles and individual wheels. Four-wheel drive guarantees perfect traction whatever the situation – whether you need to speed off quickly, take a sharp corner, go off-road, or make your way through water or snow.
