New Volkswagen Up!

The all new 2020 up! comes with upgraded safety features: curtain airbags, a multifunction camera with lane assist, seat occupied sensors (front and rear) and a traffic sign reminder now included in the ‘maps and more’ app. All of these features are standard across the range.

up! has had a refresh to the trim line up, including the introduction of stylish White and Black Editions, and the introduction of an R-Line trim. Plus, the GTI is back. up! is the first car to go on sale featuring the new, fresher, cleaner Volkswagen logo. It pips the Golf 8 and ID.3 to become the first car to make it to UK showrooms with our new roundel.

Interior

Hop into your customised cabin and you’ll feel instantly at home. The Volkswagen up! may be small on the outside, but there’s plenty of room to stretch out, and you’ll accommodate four with ease. Relax into the comfy seats and stay firmly in control – not just of the road but of your media – with the optional multi-function steering wheel.

When you’re out and about at night, you can adjust the manually dimmable rear view mirror to take the glare off headlights behind, and with move up! trim and above, there’s air conditioning to make every ride more comfy.

Safety

Whether you’re happy with the basics or want the latest kit, the up! has you covered. All variants come with stability control, airbags, a rear fog light and ISOFIX anchor points, while Automatic Emergency Braking is an affordable option on most models. Choose the e-up! and this comes as standard. If you want to add more to your model, you can opt for the Cruise and Park pack, which adds rear parking sensors and cruise control.

Performance

The Volkswagen up! is certainly a nippy model, providing up to 90PS, which propels you from 0-62mph in just 9.9 seconds. That’s not at the expense of economy, however: all engines feature Stop/Start technology to save fuel as you wait in traffic, and with emissions as low as 95g/km, you can enjoy a cleaner drive. For the ultimate in green motoring, choose the e-up! - an all-electric model with a range of up to 83 miles.

City streets demand a ride that can deal with bumps, and thanks to its supple suspension, the up! delivers. It’s controlled and comfy when the road gets rough and glides along the motorway with ease, putting rivals to shame. Meanwhile, precise steering makes light work of manoeuvres and twisting roads, and taut body control makes it fun to drive at higher speeds.
