The new Golf boasts a pared down exterior aesthetic, with a leaner front grille and slim LED headlights. Performance
With a whole host of engine options available, the new Golf lets you tailor your drive to your exact preferences. Both petrol and diesel units are on offer, as well as a 1.5-litre petrol mild hybrid and a petrol-electric plug-in hybrid. This latter option propels you from 0-62mph in just 7.4 seconds and delivers a zero-emissions range of up to 44 miles. Whichever powertrain you choose, you can expect a comfy, supple ride, precise handling, and keen grip – all of which make it a pleasure to drive.
Safety
When it comes to safety, the new Volkswagen Golf leaves no box unchecked. Standard kit such as Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane-keeping Assistance and a Drive Fatigue Monitor all contribute to its five-star Euro NCAP safety rating, and with the Car2X system fitted, you’ll be notified of any hazards within an 800m range.
